We are a glass company that requires a truck driver to drive the company Heavy Duty Flatbed truck or Heavy Duty Van in a safe manner to customer sites and help with the unloading before returning to the plant. They will be an ambassador for our company and will always conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. When deliveries are not required the employee will assist in the plant in various areas as designated by their supervisor.

Reporting Structure:

· This position shall report into the production manager with a dotted line responsibility to the General Manager.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· To safely load up product on our company truck, or in our heavy duty van.

· To deliver products to customer sites throughout Southwestern Ontario

· To assist with shipping functions as may be designated including preparing loads.

· Loading of the company truck

· Assist in various areas of the plant when required.

· To deliver shipments to our Customers in a safe and timely manner

· To fuel the truck when required

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Clean Drivers Abstract – AZ not required
• Ability / experience operating a large truck and or large heavy duty van
• Knowledge of traffic laws
• Knowledge of commercial vehicle requirements
• Highly punctual
• Able to work as a functioning member of a team
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a busy environment
• Experience with routine maintenance operations

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred but not required
• A full Class G license with a clean abstract
• 1 year experience driving a heavy truck

Physical Requirements:

• Will entail prolonged periods of walking, standing & sitting
• Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs. on a regular basis
• Safety equipment will be required, e.g., steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.

Key Performance Indicators:

• Ensure that they drive safely at all times with no speeding tickets or accidents
• Ensure that loads are delivered in a timely manner
• Ensure that pre-trip inspections are carried out to make sure truck is in good condition and safe to drive
• Ensure that loads are secured properly and safely

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
