Department Overview

Enterprise Payments Team is working to meet the evolving needs of our customers and clients in delivering legendary payment experiences and capabilities through a connected, trusted, modern and green enterprise payments platform.
Our mandate will drive harmonization of strategy, empowerment of LOBs, external collaboration, effective use of platforms, and safety & security of payment.

Job Description

Enterprise Canadian Payments Strategy:
  • Develop the strategic vision for long term payments strategy for Canadian enterprise payments based on what is happening in the market, including partnering with SVP, Enterprise Payments, VP Payments Transformation and VP U.S. Payments to develop and deliver North American and Global payments initiatives.
  • Partner with the VP of Innovation and key distinguished strategist to develop innovative solutions, intellectual property for TD and house views on relevant strategic payment topics.
  • Partner with TD corporate development and the VP of Digital Partnerships to evaluate and develop a portfolio of payments partnerships and acquisitions that empower TD's leadership in the payments space.

Line of Business Engagement on Payments Strategy:
  • End to end aggregation of Canadian Payment Strategy across all lines of businesses with a heavy interface with each distribution council and journey.
  • Play both an integration and influence role to ensure horizontal / cross-business opportunities are identified, and influences lines of business on investments required to drive greater long-term digital maturity. This will require facing off with every line of business Distribution Council, as well as direct work with each Journey and Platform (significant in scale)

Define how we win:
  • Define how we win in the end to end in digital environment. Will involve this role being directly accountable for assessing acquisition opportunities, partnership with corporate development etc.
  • Development and management of the Canadian payments roadmap with regular reporting to SET and BoD.
  • Development and management of Canadian payments partnership and acquisition strategy and roadmap.
  • Lead team of AVPs in maturing new strategic capabilities that drive incremental revenue to TD and potentially cross multiple LOBs.

Payments leverage expert:
  • Partner with lines of business where strategic payments strategy and coordination need is high to chart out path to capitalize on TD strategic payment initiatives, capabilities and partnerships; coaching leaders on investment priorities and trade-offs required to accelerate maturation.
  • Lead team of AVPs in developing new businesses around industry payments capabilities not currently at play or not currently mature in existing journeys.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to identify, evaluate and successfully business case and integrate payments partnerships and acquisitions
  • Excellent relationship management skills, effectively supporting multiple complex relationships and operating / influencing in a highly matrixed operating model
