Overview of the Role: Miller Maintenance, Owen Sound is looking for a summer student to join their team for a 4-month co-op opportunity. The ideal candidate should enjoy working outdoors and be available for full-time hours from May until the end of August. Some of the key responsibilities for the role include culvert inspection and related reporting data collection and verification. The home base location for this role is flexible within the contract areas, including Mitchell, Shelburne, Chatsworth, Clavering, and Kincardine.
Responsibilities –
Perform roadside inspections of culverts
Assess culverts for failures or deficiencies
Deficiencies reporting
Providing and maintaining accurate record keeping
Assist the team with other tasks when require
Requirements –
Currently enrolled in a CET or Civil Engineering program
Valid G Driver’s Licence
Proficient in Windows and Android software for the data collection process
Ability to work outdoors in various types of weather and environmental conditions, involving physical work
Daily local travel and occasional overnight as required
Must be able to perform repetitive physical activities e.g, emptying garbage barrels at parks, drainage maintenance cleaning out, and cold patching potholes.
