Senior Innovation Project Manager

Full-Time Permanent Position

(Commencing Immediately)

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Senior Innovation Project Manager is responsible for project and people management and is an integral member of the leadership team in the overall development of strategic and business planning at BioFoodTech.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Recruiting and hiring of Scientist and Engineering positions for the Innovation Project group;
• Conducting performance reviews, professional development sessions and identifying training needs of direct reports:
• Working with Technical Resource Manager to recommend new services (or discontinuation of unnecessary services) to be provided by the Innovation Projects group;
• Working with project leaders, Technical Resource Manager and Business Development Manager to develop scope and costing of project work;
• Monitoring and tracking progress, resources and expenditures on projects;
• Providing guidance to the scientists and engineers for project procurement and technology/capabilities development;
• Initiating new affiliations on behalf of BioFoodTech with government and university organizations;
• Liaising with funding agencies and maintaining contacts and knowledge of their programs;
• Reviewing and providing input on policies, standard operating procedures, quality plans, and other materials pertinent to project delivery;
• Developing and maintaining extensive relationships that will identify and secure new opportunities for projects;
• Promoting BioFoodTech at relevant workshops, conferences and meetings;
• Working with the Business Development Manager to coordinate direct contacts between project leaders and potential clients in PEI, the Atlantic region and beyond; and
• Liaising with specific clients on projects of strategic significance to BioFoodTech and PEI.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or related
• Master’s degree in science or business
• Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered
• Relevant industry experience (food, bioprocessing, manufacturing)
• Extensive experience leading and managing teams and projects
• Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, GMP
• Strong oral, written, presentation skills
• Strong leadership, change agility and resilience skills

Salary Range: $43.26 - $54.08 – Level 23 (Excluded Pay Plan)

Bi-Weekly Hours: 75.0 hours bi-weekly
