Are you an experienced Reliability or Facilities Engineer looking for your next challenge to showcase your skillset as a specialist? If so, we’re looking for you! We are hiring a Sr. Reliability Engineer to support our Upgrading team in Fort McMurray.
As the Sr. Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and sustaining equipment strategies using Reliability Centered Maintenance Methodology, Risk Based Inspection, continuous improvement and industry best practices. You will be part of a Maintenance and Reliability team including highly engaged and motivated Jr. Engineers looking for technical coaching.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Applied Science or equivalent with 12+ years experience with a preference in Mechanical, Materials, or Metallurgical Engineering
  • A Professional Engineer designation with Apega
  • Refinery or Petrochemical plant engineering experience with detailed knowledge of hydraulic processes and technologies including heavy oil processing
  • Strong knowledge and experience with mechanical design and active failure mechanisms for pressure vessels, exchangers, and piping
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
Desired Competencies:
  • Inspection & Maintenance of ABSA Regulated Vessels / Exchangers / Piping / Fittings
  • Application of API 580/581 Principles
  • Application of API 579 Methods
  • RCM or Six Sigma
Key Accountabilities:
  • Originate and present complete and final reports on own technical studies reflecting a high degree of originality tailored to the problem or opportunity
  • Build strong positive relationships with diverse groups through day-to-day reliability plant support with a continuous focus on safe, reliable, and efficient operation
  • Recommend and implement practices and provide both strategic and tactical advice about equipment to improve reliability
  • Assure the integrity of equipment and processes, alert management of potential integrity issues, and provide recommendations to correct the respective issues
  • Analysis of equipment history to identify reliability improvement opportunities in existing and developing systems
  • Manage making key decisions with respect to technology and lead all aspects of our program maintenance and asset health
  • Provide recommendations to capital improvement projects to ensure reliability and maintainability
  • Ensure compliance with local government regulations and industry standards
Location & other key details:
  • You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • This position is safety sensitive
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible individuals
