Your Role and Responsibilities
This position resides in Markham, ON and is 16 months in May 2023. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completions of the work-term.

We are a software development team seeking proven contributors and creative team players looking for challenges and impact in an agile, fast paced and rewarding environment. You will be a member of the worldwide WebSphere Application Server development team. You will actively participate in the development of WebSphere Application Server with a focus on Open Liberty, IBM’s open source application server designed for cloud native applications and microservices. You will be exposed to all aspects of software development from design, development, test to delivery and will experience agile and open software development at scale first hand.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Experience with Java, Java EE technologies, as well as HTML, JavaScript, Node.js
  • Experience with Windows and Linux
  • Source code management tools like Git
  • Successful track record with determination and resolution of technical problems
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent teaming skill with a proven track record of collaboration and working in an agile development environment
  • Must be eligible to work 16 months starting in May 2023

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Experience with Websphere Application Server product portfolio
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and OpenShift
  • Experience with Open Source development
  • Registered in a formal co-op/internship program

This role will involve working with technology that is covered by Export Regulations sanctions.
