TransX has an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Coordinator to join the operations team in our Mississauga terminal. Reporting to the NA Logistics Manager, the role of the Logistics Coordinator is to complete the load booking process according to customer/sales expectations to ensure their needs are met or exceeded in a timely fashion. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for dispatching the loads to carriers based on customer requirements. A thorough understanding and experience in customer service and dispatch experience in a 3PL environment is a must for this role.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Procure new and develop existing carrier relationships through lead generation, calling prospective trucking companies and different load boards.
• Analyze load information, both dedicated and ad hoc, to assign the right carrier.
• Contact carriers and negotiate the right equipment, price, and expectations.
• Build strong relationships with the carriers through communication and ongoing monitoring of on time performance.
• Leverage our technology systems and internal data to make informed decisions that will provide the right solutions to the customer and meet the company’s goals and targets.
• Work along internal and external stakeholders to determine and implement the best solution.
• Maintain timely and accurate communication with carriers multiple times per day and ensure shipment details are communicated and tracked in the system.
• Negotiate any additional charges with carriers and assist to maintain the accuracy of the carrier information.
• Understand current industry market conditions and communicate any carrier issues that might impact operations as a whole with the entire team.
• Have a complete and thorough understanding of the needs of the customer and how the company’s services can most effectively meet those needs.
• Provide exceptional service to our customers and carriers.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED
• A Post-secondary degree is an asset
• Diploma in Logistics or International Trade is an asset

• Have a positive and flexible attitude in a fast changing environment.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a 3PL dispatch environment.
