Position Overview

Reporting to the Superintendent of Production & Construction, this is a contributively role that ensures that underground activities are safely executed in accordance with the all requirements of the Mine Plan and existing regulations, procedures and practices. This position allows for alignment of mine wide priorities and special projects that enhance the production processes.

Specific Accountabilities:

• Promote IRS and ensure health, safety, environment and community (HSEC) objectives for Kidd Operations’ employees and contractors are met.
• Coach mentor, set expectations for frontline supervisors in areas of safety, productivity, quality of work, Human Resources and the environment.
• Implement improvement strategies to ensure production targets are achieved
• Direct daily and weekly schedule and set performance expectations with process frontline supervision and follow up on daily execution.
• Recommend and implement recovery plan to address anomalies to weekly and monthly plans
• Lead and implement special projects as assigned by the Superintendent throughout the year
• Ensure the correct coverage within the processes are being maintained by the supervisors to meet the mine plan.
• Monitor wastage of consumable materials to conform to expected budgetary levels.
• Replace Superintendent when absent from site or as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Supervisory Common Core
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in an underground mining environment with progressive supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
• Ability to measure performance levels and goals for both Kidd Mine and Contractors skills.
