Security Project Manager Job at Daemon Defense Systems

We are looking for a skilled Security Project Manager who will work closely with the team and is responsible for devising security plans and strategies while leading the security team. Daemon Defense Security Program Managers maintain the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality. You will collaborate with the team and contribute to the security framework with impeccable attention to detail.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work as a part of the security program, deliver enhancements, migrations, and implementation projects with a focus on security.
- Manage cyber security related projects in a large healthcare environment.
- Work with security architects, delivery teams and customer security teams to define project scopes, plan security strategy, build roadmaps, plan tactical security solutions, design and deploy security solutions.
- Manage and report on project metrics including progress, earned value metrics, baseline, forecast and actual dates, costs and scope, including updates into the Project Management tracking tool.
- Prepare project status reports, including internal and customer facing.
- Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.
- Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.
- Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.
- Execute the project according to the project plan.
- Prepare, track, and provide timely updates to action, issue and risk logs.
- Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders, including appropriate staff in the organization, on the progress of the project.
Qualifications
- Candidate must have completed at least 7+ years of continuous project management practice in the Information technology space, preferably with large, complex, program development and integration efforts
- A Certified Information Systems Security Specialist Professional (CISSP) preferred
- Successful completion of post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience
- Strong project management experience in a cyber security systems environment
- 3 + years’ experience in delivering complex security-based projects
- Applied knowledge of program management processes, budgeting, information analysis and reporting
- Excellent communicator and comfortable managing multiple tasks
- Team player
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines at a time
- 5 + years experience in business management, recruitment, staff mentorship, performance benchmarking, project design and strategy development
- Master’s degree in project management or Project Management Certificate would be an asset
Additional Skills
- Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, EDR, SOAR (Statement of Acceptable Risk), IDPS, PAM/IAM concepts is an asset.
- Understanding of network vulnerabilities, their identification and mitigation methods.
- Understanding of patch management.
- Candidate must have implemented full scale project plans leading the planning, base lining, execution, and reporting of up to three cyber security projects.
- Familiarity with network, communication, cryptographic and system security safeguards (i.e., Intrusion Detection Systems / Intrusion Prevention Systems, firewalls, anti-virus, access provisioning, patch management, secure file transfer, vulnerability assessment tools, encryption).
- Familiarity with modern integrations to support compliance, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with CMDB, Identity and Access Management solutions across Cloud providers (e.g., AWS and Azure).
- Knowledge of government and health care environments is an asset.
