GardaWorld is seeking a highly enthusiastic and self-motivated Security Dispatcher to work at one of our client's facilities, Simon Fraser University, Burnaby campus
. As a Security Dispatcher, your primary responsibility will be to provide professional and courteous customer service as the first point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and the general public requesting campus safety assistance.

What you ll be doing

• Monitor and coordinate response to campus theft, intrusion, DSC, panic, fire alarms, and other on-campus critical responses
• Respond and provide direction to incoming telephone calls which may include emergency calls for medical, fire, police and other emergent matters
• Document activities as per department procedures
• Operate computer software and equipment to quickly and accurately complete tasks under time constraints
• Facilitate after-hours troubleshooting, communications, and notifications

Requirements

• Ability to monitor multiple simultaneous pieces of information, prioritize, track resources, and make decisions under pressure
• Able to be patient and kind even in stressful/frustrating situations
• Ability to understand and work effectively in a diverse, multicultural university environment
• Strong computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 50 WPM
• Exceptional oral and written communication
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts (84 hours bi-weekly) including graveyards and weekends
• Valid BC Basic Security Licence

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with Resolver Core or Perspective Incident Management System, Milestone, Lenel, Bosch, Honeywell EBI, Simplex and MS Office
• Experience with CCTV, access control, and alarm monitoring
• Completion of post-secondary from a recognized educational institution
• Specialized training relating to persons in distress and critical incident response
