Fowler is searching for licensed AZ or DZ drivers to operate a tandem or tri-axle snow plow, or combination plow/spreader units, for the winter season.

Responsibilities & Job Requirements:
· Safe and efficient operation of the spreader, plow wing or combo unit, to perform winter maintenance operations of MTO designated highways as per the contract.
· Prepare, maintain and operate heavy maintenance equipment such as loaders, backhoes, skid steers, etc.
· Prepare, maintain and operate light duty maintenance equipment such as steamers, chainsaws, gas powered hand tools, etc.
· Maintain accurate documentation including but not limited to; pre-trips, fuel reports, safety reports and hours of service, and all required winter maintenance documentation – Winter Operations Records – manually or electronically.
· Maintain and clean equipment and conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs as required and/or instructed by area supervisor
· Carry out any additional highway maintenance activities, facility maintenance and patrol yard maintenance as required and/or instructed by area supervisor.
· Ensure compliance with applicable acts and regulations
· Understand and follow all contractual requirements, including call response time, route maps; etc
· Report accidents and traffic violations to the area supervisor
· Must be capable of self-loading the truck
· Travel to various sites and locations may be required
· Indoor and outdoor environments; various weather conditions
· Weekend, and night shifts as necessary since this role is based on weather conditions
· All other duties as assigned by management

Skills, Experience and Attributes:
· Must hold and maintain a valid AZ or DZ driver’s license
· OTM Book 7 Training considered an asset
· Experience in highway maintenance and plowing considered an asset
· A high commitment to personal safety and the safety of others
· Strong work ethic, reliable and highly motivated
· Must be able to work with little supervision
· Be capable of communicating effectively orally and in a written manner in a prompt and courteous manner
· Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management
· Ability to stand, lift 50 lbs, carry, bend, reach, climb

Work Conditions
· Indoor and outdoor environments; and various weather conditions.
· Flexible with work hours as there will be shiftwork, including weekends, nights based on the assigned shift and or rotation.
· Must be available to be on call regularly

Previous experience as a truck driver, AZ Driver, DZ Driver, snow plow driver, highway maintenance, winter operations, road maintenance, plowing is an asset.
