Position Title: SCCM Administrator
Team and Location: IT – Calgary, AB
Position Summary:
The SCCM Administrator will be part of the End User Computing Team, managing the company’s end-user endpoints and performing all functions required to support day-to-day operations. Primary responsibilities include the management of the physical and virtual workstations and physical mobility devices in the environment, maintain workstation and mobility configurations, and provide level 3 support to all IT teams.
They will be responsible for all aspects of end-user endpoint management including patching, imaging, data analysis, trends, compliance, governance, documentation, and providing support on various operational activities.
- Acts as an advisor in the assessment, planning, designing, and implementation of new service offerings as it relates to configuration management
- Proactive in maintaining a strong knowledge of endpoint management technologies
- Strategize on endpoint management related requests by gathering and documenting requirements from various stakeholders
- Provide management team with data analysis reports
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain end-user endpoint workstations for both corporate and retail environments.
- Manage SCCM infrastructure from distribution points to Cloud Management Gateway.
- Manage the architecture of the configuration management too.
- Create and support Windows group policies from Microsoft Baselines to security compliancy and application support.
- Design, create and manage images for physical and virtual end-user endpoints.
- Manage mobile device policies in the selected Mobility Device Management tool.
- Patch Management and reporting of various Windows platform-based devices.
- Manage and configure the packaging and deployment of software to workstations.
- Research new technology as it relates to endpoint management.
- Strategize on new ideas and approaches on how to manage various endpoint devices.
- Demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships with business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience with knowledge Base Articles, documentation and creation and maintenance of training materials.
- Able to work effectively both as an individual contributor and as a team member with minimal supervision.
- Mentor analysts and provide support to other team members.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to coordinate, prioritize and complete multiple tasks and multiple priorities.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing an end-user environment through various endpoint configuration management tools such as SCCM, Tanium….
- Certification in endpoint management administration and tools is strongly recommended.
- Advanced experience in administering:
- Windows 10
- Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager or equivalent
- Microsoft 365
- Intune or equivalent
- Active Directory
- Windows Group Policy
- Advanced experience (5+ years) in desktop operating system image design and configuration
- Experience with developing PowerShell scripts to manage, configure, gather information, and remediate servers and end-user endpoints.
- Experienced working in a large corporate environment.
- Extensive knowledge of modern Windows Operating Systems, including Windows 10.
- Enterprise Mobility Management experience (BYOD & Corporate Device Management).
- Experience in exploring new technology and advancing the area of endpoint configuration management.
- ITIL certification (version 3 or greater).
- Strong forward thinking, analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Ability to create automation/scripts to solve problems and increase efficiency.
- Experience using packaging and deployment technologies such as System Center Operations Manager, PDQ, and Tanium.
- Experience implementing system hardening using Windows Security Center guidance.
- Advanced PowerShell scripting skillset.
- Experience creating reports using SQL Server Reporting Services.
- Experience with Windows Server and Desktop operating system performance tuning.
- Understanding, and experience with, IT Operations and delivery of service.
- Experience in IT Change Management practices and procedures.
- Experience working on projects and familiar with project management methodology.
- College Degree and/or Microsoft Certification.
