At SMS Equipment our Reliability Engineers in Training are key players in providing a variety of technical support and maintenance of the RAMP and availability records. They provide direction to the branch and customers with regards to maintenance programs, recommendations, and technical support. We are looking for a candidate who will bring their willingness to learn, resourcefulness and positivity to the team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Availability. This position requires close attention to record keeping, reconciling, invoicing and report preparation. Identifying and analysing of technical issues relating to Availability and communicating those issues with all stakeholders. There will be the need to negotiate availability with customers and have it signed off monthly.
• Quality Assurance. Develop and implement processes and quality systems for SMS Equipment, Fort McMurray and also external customers (Komatsu, Suncor). Analyse technical data and prepare technical reports. Analysis component failures as needed to verify failure mechanisms in order to improve develop and maintain procedures and documentation for the operation and/or design of electrical, mechanical and welding.
• Reporting. Analyse technical data and prepare technical reports.

Qualifications:

This position requires an Engineering degree preferably in mechanical or technology or related education and 2-3 years of mechanical experience. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered.

• Excellent computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Previous fleet management experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of OHSE acts and regulations as well as fleet inspection requirements.
• Planning and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and complete projects.
• Ability to work independently and/ or as part of a team.
• Knowledge of company and customer standards and procedures as applicable.
• Manage contracts as per outlined language and intent.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of individuals and groups
