The Universal Group has an exciting opportunity for a Recruitment and Dispatch Coordinator to join our Universal Personnel team for a one year contract. Reporting to the Operations Manager at Universal Personnel, the Recruitment and Dispatch Coordinator partners with the Universal Personnel group and internal clients to drive forward our purpose of providing Peace of Mind to our clients and our employees. The Role
As a Recruitment and Dispatch Coordinator, you will be responsible to work with the hiring managers and other stakeholders to recruit, select, and on-board new hires and provide administrative and dispatch support.
What you will do:
- Design and implement overall recruitment strategy
- Consult with hiring managers to discover staff requirements and specific job objectives
- Write and post job descriptions on job boards and other media as required
- Source candidates by using databases and social media
- Evaluate and screen resumes and cover letters
- Use recruitment tools like tests and assessments to assess candidates’ skills
- Conduct phone, GoogleMeet, and/or in-person interviews
- Provide a shortlist of qualified candidates to hiring managers
- Help the hiring team with recruiting methods and interview questions
- Contact new employees and prepare onboarding sessions
- Prepare new hire paperwork ensuring legislation requirements are met
- Maintain a complete record of interviews and new hires within current software system
- Stay up-to-date with current recruitment methods
- Attend job fairs and careers events as required
- Provide support for Dispatch team; assist the Dispatch team with administrative tasks
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Proven work experience as a Recruitment Coordinator or Recruiter
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology or relevant field is an asset
- Previous dispatch and / or administrative experience is an advantage
- Solid knowledge of best recruitment practices, Human Rights Code and Employment Standards Act
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HRIS databases like BambooHR
- Familiarity with social media, specifically LinkedIn
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through to completion
