Based in Toronto & Mississauga, Minerva Equity Partners is a private equity firm focused on American companies. We will be opening two office locations in the US, given that a few partners reside there. We are seeking to fill two Private Equity Internship positions to assist with a multitude of tasks relating to sourcing and analyzing investment opportunities. The position will require you to report to an office, once a week.

The firm is entrepreneurial in nature, which allows the intern to gain a great deal of exposure to all aspects of private equity. You will work with partners in the US and Canada and colleague in North America and Asia. You will learn valuable skills that will be transferable to positions in investment banking, valuation, corporate finance and private equity. Some of these skills include company valuation, presentation development, and market research. Strong communications skills and a strong interest in technology applications are imperative. Our internship programs runs on an annual basis. This is an internship with the potential for modest compensation associated with any investment the intern is involved with.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting market and industry research
  • Participating in the sourcing, analysis and evaluation of investment opportunities aligned to corporate strategy
  • Participating in the due diligence process and delivering investment presentations in collaboration with the Private Equity team
  • Maintaining and enhancing existing working relationships with key internal and external business stakeholders
  • Qualifying investment opportunities and providing a weekly sourced deal flow
  • Creating and maintaining deal flow databases and overviews
  • Drafting letters/emails to business owners using AI and our templates
  • Use our proprietary deal data db to better source targets
  • Identify synergies to integrate target with businesses in Asia
  • Track performance and improve sourcing process

Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented
  • Workings towards a bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting/Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or a related field
  • Working towards a CFA/CAIA/CBV/CPA designation (or working towards another designation) is considered an asset
  • Prior professional services industry
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues in a clear and compelling manner and present information effectively to stakeholder groups
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, financial modeling, problem-solving and researching skills with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently deliver quality outputs in a fast-paced environment, ability to work within tight deadlines, handle multiple projects and ad-hoc requests simultaneously

Job Types: Full-time, Internship / Co-op
Contract length: 12 months

Salary: Up to $65,998.66 per year
