Operations Supervisor (Hazardous Waste)

Acden Environment is currently accepting applications for one (1) Operations Supervisor, Hazardous Waste to oversee IOL Kearl Oil Sands operations, hazardous waste division. This position will consist of 14 on, 14 off rotation, 12-hour day shifts. Flight and camp accommodations will be provided through the client from designated hubs in Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta; however, schedules, shifts and site locations may change from time to time to meet operational requirements.

What will you get exposure to?

  • Under the direction of the Site Manager, you will be responsible for office and field operations, leadership, administration, and safety as it relates to providing excellent service to the client.
  • Oversee daily hazardous waste operations ensuring Acden Environment is meeting or exceeding all service requirements; including but not limited to daily work task observations.
  • Coordinate and schedule waste services across the client site.
  • Establish and maintain a frequent, positive and successful working relationship with customers, clients and partners.
  • Lead employees to encourage employee contribution, goal setting, and performance development planning.
  • Perform tracking, reporting and daily administration duties.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations in relation to the company, safety, and other applicable laws.

What are the job requirements?

  • Supervisory and Hazardous waste experience.
  • Clear and precise verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Post-secondary education in the sciences or Project Management education is an asset.
  • Eligible to work on all Acden client sites as required by the position.
  • Valid Common Safety Orientation (CSO); or OSSA BSO Certificate, or a combination of CSTS-09 and OSSA Regional certificates.
  • Valid Class 3 driver’s licence, with airbrake endorsement.
  • Be familiar with and observe Alberta Provincial Hours of Service Regulations, TDG regulations, and the Alberta Ministry of Transportation laws.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a driver’s evaluation in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
