We are currently searching for a highly experienced Operations Coordinator to fulfill the role of site leadership in our mining support operations in the Elk Valley region.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Coordinator will be responsible:
- To act as a project coordinator for all projects within local region, providing leadership and delivery through the execution of project planning, initiation and close out
- To act as point of contact for client relations, manage change and delegate tasks as appropriate.
- Manage the appropriate allocation of resources to ensure continuity is maintained in the eyes of our customers.
- Liaise with the sales team to understand and prepare for future and new opportunities in all of our service lines.
- Lead the regional operations team with a process-driven approach to the effective preparation of projects and services.
- For assigned project team role, fulfill required tasks as per the Project Management System workflow regardless of corporate role.
- Provide support and assistance on ad hoc tasks as requested by co-workers.
- Ensure planning and execution for all jobs that are issued within the designated region.
- Provide leadership and direction for employees and contracted personnel under their jurisdiction, delegating tasks and monitoring performance as required.
- Ensure the Health and Safety of personnel through effective training, implementation and monitoring to support the policies and procedures of Irwin’s Safety and the client.
- Ensure the appropriate inventory of resources and equipment to support successful implementation of work.
- Act as the local point of contact for client relations, promote confidence in operational excellence and assist in the development of contract expansion for increased revenue.
- Liaise with the sales team to understand and prepare for opportunities in our service lines.
- 3-5 years leadership experience in an industrial or mining setting
- Prefer experience in safety related operations and training
- Clean driving record
- Mine Supervisor Certificate preferred
- Computer literate - proficiency in Microsoft Office
