Discovery Community College has an instructing opportunity available for the right individual(s), to help guide our students through their HCA training.

Our instructors play a vital role in changing lives and positively impacting the health care sector in BC, leading students through their laboratory, and clinical training toward entering the work force as fully qualified and desperately needed HCA’s.

The instruction will be in-facility in the Vernon and Salmon Arm areas for approximately 12 weeks, starting the beginning of January 2023.

Depending on your availability this could be a full-time position to cover the Vernon and Salmon Arm classes, or part-time for either one.

What you have:

· Passion for making a real difference required!

· Current full registration with the BCCNM – required.

· Two or more years of full-time nursing experience – required.

o Minimum 2800 hours of nursing experience

o Nursing experience must include experience in acute and LTC care settings

· Ability to teach adult learners (mentoring / instructing)

o Previous experience an asset (please forward examples)

Part-time hours: 20-40 per week

Salary: $31.00-$34.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

Licence/Certification:

• Registered Nurse (RN) License (required)
