In Search Of
We are currently seeking a full-time Medical Office Assistant. The successful candidate will be the primary administrative assistant for two of the clinic’s four surgeons, while supporting the medical office manager in all aspects of running the clinic. In this role, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, booking and confirming appointments and surgeries, front reception/checking patients in and out for appointments, organizing, scheduling, filing, answering and returning phone calls, collecting patient information, and entering data into an Electronic Medical Record system (EMR). This position is ideal for someone with exceptional interpersonal skills, multitasking ability in an office environment, an interest in the medical field, and a desire to help others.
Position Accountabilities
- Ability to adapt and work within a fast-paced environment, capable of prioritizing and completing many assignments and tasks
- Impeccable attention to detail when confirming patients’ demographics and referring physician information
- Interaction with patients, scheduling and confirming appointments and surgeries
- Coordinating surgical schedule at multiple health care centers
- Excellent communication skills with coworkers, patients, referring offices and physicians, including ability to manage frustrated individuals due to wait times for consultations/surgeries
- Understanding and adherence to all applicable privacy and confidentiality laws and regulations
- Ability to accept constructive feedback on processes and tasks
Position Requirements
The ideal candidate possesses the following:
- Grade 12 Education (Administrative Diploma may be considered an asset)
- COVID-19 vaccination
- Solid computer skills and comfort with digital applications is essential; previous knowledge & use of EMR program would be an asset;
- Medical terminology or equivalent experience is an asset
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience in Healthcare, an asset but not required;
- Certification of First Aid and CPR an asset:
- Superior attention to detail; ensuring clerical accuracy is met when recording information;
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and work ethic;
- Willingness to learn, excel and achieve personal goals.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
