Reporting to the Manager of Marketing, the Marketing Strategist will have a critical role in analyzing and optimizing the performance
of marketing efforts and digital marketing channels, while also aligning marketing outputs with customer journeys and leading
strategies to improve the customer experience. The Marketing Strategist will be responsible for working in collaboration with various
stakeholders and demonstrating expertise in strategic thinking while brainstorming innovative concepts for future marketing
strategies and campaigns.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-depth research to identify new market opportunities and establish market trends, both inside and outside of the
energy utility space.
  • Accountable for setting specific marketing goals that align with enterprise direction and business goals.
  • Participate in strategy sessions to identify and deliver marketing opportunities, while managing marketing sensitivities.
  • Develop innovative concepts to promote the brand, existing and new products & services, retain customers, target specific

customer groups through personas, and provide engaging, timely and value-added content – in alignment with Energy for Life
brand objectives.

  • Plan and monitor marketing activities and campaigns.
  • Evaluate marketing outcomes including marketing tactics, customer conversions, ROI, ROAS and Customer Acquisition Cost
to ensure desired impact is achieved.
  • Assist in the development and articulation of the overall marketing strategy for Manitoba Hydro in consultation with the

Marketing Manager to drive marketing tasks and activities across all channels (web, social, email, print, media) for the
organization.

  • Oversee the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of external marketing campaigns including determining the
approach, scope, and objectives of marketing campaigns.
  • Manage external campaign budgets across a variety of channels including, but not limited to, paid social media, digital, print,
outdoor, radio, and television, by being able to adjust and reallocate funds on an ongoing basis.
  • Work in collaboration with the Digital Engagement Supervisor to ensure digital solutions/channels are leveraged in the delivery
of marketing content.
  • Work in collaboration with the Creative Services Supervisor to ensure marketing strategies align with creative concepts, brand
and marketing objectives.
  • Work in collaboration with Product Research & Development and Product Management teams to align marketing strategies
and external marketing campaigns with product strategies to effectively market new and existing products.
  • Work in collaboration with the Customer Strategy & Experience team to analyze and optimize the performance of marketing
efforts/digital marketing channels, while also aligning marketing outputs with customer journeys and strategies.
  • Work in collaboration with the Corporate Communications team to align on key messages to be incorporated within marketing
outputs.
  • Triage incoming marketing campaign requests received from teams outside of SMPD, ensuring that marketing campaign
requests align with the overall marketing strategy and goals for the Marketing department.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a four-year university degree in Marketing, Communications (or relevant discipline) from an institute of
recognized standing plus four years of directly related experience in marketing strategy.
  • Familiarity with SEO/SEM, Google Analytics, and social media metrics.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication (written, oral and presentation) skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to comfortably and effectively build and maintain a broad range of
relationships at a variety of levels, both internally and externally.
  • Creative thinker with data-driven analytical aptitude.

Salary Range

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $40.04-$55.25 Hourly,
$76,728.86-$105,875.12 Annually.
