Schedule: Monday - Friday, Standard 38.75 hour work week
Location: Primary Care Network Wellness Centre at #4000, 1800 194 Avenue SE; Calgary, AB - Eligible for hybrid remote work
Reports to: Director, Analytics
Oversees: IT Team
Position Summary
The IT Manager is responsible for the overall management of the IT team and associated resources, contracts, and infrastructure. This includes the planning, development, implementation, co-ordination, administration, and evaluation of information technology for SCPCN Corporate and Clinical departments. The position monitors operational requirements, researches strategies and technology solutions, and develops IT solutions to achieve organizational goals. As a member of the Management Leadership Team, the position will be responsible for providing vision, expertise and leadership in the planning, delivery, and support of Information Technology.
What Does the Role Do?
Operational Responsibilities:
- Leading the management of all organizational IT infrastructure, network, and related components to maintain a reliable and scalable system for the organization.
- Managing incoming incident and service request tickets ensuring they are handled efficiently, effectively, and SLAs targets are met.
- Communicating business needs to technical audiences while simplifying complex technical information for business audiences.
- Leading the identification and recommendation of technology solutions for challenges faced by various business groups within the organization.
- Ensuring systems and software licensing laws are adhered to.
- Leading and participating in systems architecture planning and problem solving
Establishing strong relationships with management, staff, partners, vendors, and third-party providers.- Supporting the development of organizational strategy as it relates to Information Technology and responsible for the implementation of Information Technology strategy.
- Conducting research, analysing, and consulting with all levels of management and external vendors for the purpose of identifying and solving both business challenges and technical problems, as well as presenting opportunities to capitalize on new and/or upcoming technologies.
- Establishing standards and guidelines for the effective use of computer hardware, software, application development, voice, and data communications.
- Developing IT policies covering all areas of privacy, security as well as hardware and software use.
- Ensuring proper IT Governance and appropriately scaled ITSM processes are implemented and maintained.
- Planning career development/advancement opportunities for the IT Team.
- Representing SCPCN as appropriate with various stakeholders, including vendors, government agencies, the health care community, and partners.
- Comply with and participate in the continuous improvement of the Company’s Health and Safety programs and Quality Systems.
- Evaluating Key operational dashboards and reports and using the data to make informed decisions.
- Responsible for negotiation and administration and management of various IT contracts established with vendors and third-party providers.
- Developing, implementing, and managing the organizational Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans.
- Assuming a lead role during emergency, business continuity, or disaster recovery events.
- Ensuring we have a strong cybersecurity program including but not limited to Staff Cybersecurity Awareness Training, Technical cybersecurity solutions, Security monitoring and analysis, Regular security evaluations and tests, Development, and execution of continuous improvement plans.
Who Should Apply?
- Master’s degree in Business/Commerce (Management Information Systems) and/or Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate is an asset.
- Project Management certifications is an asset.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of related IT management experience, preferably in a health care setting, including implementation, maintenance and support of IT systems and projects.
- Experience in leading the planning and delivery of IT solutions.
- Expert knowledge of various Microsoft Server and web technologies.
