Job Summary:
The Human Resources Manager is the strategic partner to the CEO and the
Leadership team providing advice and recommendations on all aspects of
Human Resources at Adacel. S/he will evaluate the business impact of HR
decisions, weigh the risks/reward, and make recommendations for the business
leaders. As an active member of the Management Committee, the successful
Senior HRBP acts as an ambassador of Adacel’s values and as a change agent,
anticipating and acting on all HR-related needs, in collaboration with the business
Leaders.

S/he is responsible to maintain and enhance the Human Resources function at
Adacel by planning, implementing, and evaluating Adacel’s policies, programs,
and practices in all areas of Human Resources management. S/he oversees the
employee relations, benefits, compensation and recruiting functions. S/he works
closely with organizational members and leadership and consults with members
of Adacel’s leadership team on a frequent basis on all human resources related
matters.

Executive Responsibilities:

  • Advisor on all HR issues, systems, policies, and programs across the organization.
  • Architect of the employee total benefits programs, including compensation, health insurance, expense reimbursement, and vacation to ensure compliance and equity.
  • Establish Adacel’s talent acquisition strategy including talent development, succession planning and employee retention.
  • Change management leader responsible for engagement measures and strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with national and local HR regulations and laws by conducting investigations and maintaining records.
  • Custodian of the company’s organizational structure provides guidanceand input on business unit restructures.
  • Lead actions and plans to address complicated employee relations issues
  • Supports the Executive team with various initiatives to improve the general well-being and work/life balance of Adacel employees.
  • Prepares and maintains the budget for Human Resources operations.
  • Oversees the Human Resources function for the Canadian office and international locations.
  • Engagement strategy execution
  • Works closely with Leaders and employees to improve work

relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.

  • Employee wellness
  • Manages and organizes corporate social events.
  • Leads the annual charity campaign for the Canadian office.
  • Administer personnel sourcing/interviewing/hiring/on-boarding/termination.
  • Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects candidates to fill vacantpositions.
  • Develops contract terms for new hires, permanent and consulting.
  • Plans and conducts new hire orientation to foster positive attitude

toward company goals.

  • Compensation and benefits management.
  • Makes recommendations regarding benefits programs such as life,

health, and dental insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave,
leave of absence, and the Employee Assistance Program.

  • Conducts wage/salary surveys within the labor market to

determine competitive wage/salary rates.

  • Policy and procedure management
  • Oversee and refine employee standards and procedures, usingexisting HR systems as well as improved or recommended processes.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to internal standard

operating procedures, including team restructuring and morale building.

  • Performance management:
  • Administers the Performance Review Program to ensureeffectiveness, compliance, and equity.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to Leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Training and development
  • Ensures adherence to national and local regulation with regards toemployee development and training.
  • HR systems administration / Management of employee records
  • Maintains a Human Resources Information System and supplies

members of the leadership team with the data requested.

  • Maintains participation records for employees who enroll in the

pension plan and health and wellness benefits plans.

  • Day to day employee relations issues
  • Informs Adacel employees of policies regarding equal employment

opportunities, compensation, employee benefits, performance, management, etc.

  • Responds to inquiries regarding Human Resources policies,

procedures, and programs.

  • Source of HR information/guidance to business leaders and employees
  • Legislative compliance
  • Compliance to HR policies and the law and to Health and Safety regulations.
  • Consults legal counsel, when applicable, to ensure that policies

comply with applicable legislation.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field.

In-depth knowledge of Canadian employment law, benefits and pension plans.

Previous experience working in a leadership role in the Human Resources field.

  • Previous experience utilizing an HR Management software/system.
  • Professional Human Resources Certification.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and an ethical mindset.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • Bilingual in French and English.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Desired

  • 7+ years of experience working in the Human Resources field.
  • Knowledge of US employment law, benefits and pension plans

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to adhere to Adacel’s Drug Free Workplace Policy.
  • Ability to pass an Adacel background check while employed.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% annually.

Physical Requirements:

  • Minimal physical effort (e.g., lifting, pushing and moving heavy objects).
  • Occasional lifting – less than 25 lbs.
  • Repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movement.

Work Environment:
