Job Description

We are looking for a control system programmer to join our team.

Main Duties:

• Configuration of PLC systems using ladder logic, function block and structured text languages
• Development of HMI systems
• Review and/or authoring of shutdown keys and control narratives.
• Conducting internal testing of control systems
• Setup of control system equipment
• Control Panel hardware acceptance testing
• Commissioning of control systems at client facilities throughout North America

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience with PLC Programming using either Rockwell Studio 5000 (Compact/ControlLogix) or Modicon Control Expert (M340/M580/Quantum).
• Experience with HMI configuration (Ignition preferred)
• Experience with control system commissioning
• Experience with control system documentation – shutdown keys, control narratives.
• Ability to interpret P&ID drawings.
• Ability and willingness to travel within Canada and USA. Must be able to qualify for a USA TN work visa under USMCA.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience

Other Skills/Qualifications Which Would Be an Asset:

• Experience with IEC 62443 cybersecurity standards
• Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and the IEC 61511 standard
• Experience with Cisco/Stratix Networking Equipment (Switches & Firewalls) and development of network architectures for control systems.
• Experience with virtualized servers (VMWare ESXi, Hyper-V or similar)
• Experience with .NET programming (C#, VB.NET)
• Experience with Burner Management Systems (BMS)
• P.Eng, P.L.(Eng) registered with APEGA or CET/P.Tech registered with ASET. Will consider candidates working towards these designations or without designation with sufficient experience.
• P.E. (USA) Designation

Other Information:

• This position could be either contract or staff
• Candidates will be required to pass a police background check and a drug/alcohol test.
• Must have driver’s license

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $80,000.00-$200,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Overtime

Supplemental pay types:

• Overtime pay
