We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic team player to join our* Edmonton, AB* Dealership as a Warranty/Service Writer. This is a Full-Time, Regular position.
The primary focus of the Service & Warranty Advisor is to deal with all aspects of service and warranty administration in the Service Department. Working with internal and external customers, the advisor attends to the customers’ needs relating to the service, repair, or warranty of recreational vehicles while ensuring each customer is treated as an honoured guest. The advisor must be mindful of shop workloads and deadlines, and act on value-added opportunities.

JOB DUTIES:
- Discussing serious concerns with a Service Technician or Manager
- Scheduling customer appointments using the Appointment Scheduler and entering jobs for all service work requested
- Reviewing all service work requested with customer upon arrival to the dealership to maintain a clear understanding of customer expectations
- Creating work orders and entering proper technician times
- Work closely with technicians to ensure all information within the work order is clear and accurate
- Performing a Quality Control check on each repair leaving the shop to maintain our high-quality standards
- Ensuring accurate customer billing; closing the work order as soon as the work is completed
- Calling and advising the customer as soon as the work is completed
- Scheduling customer’s Active Delivery appointments using the Appointment Scheduler to ensure pick up
- Providing estimates on service work
- Review Open WO by Service Writer Report weekly to maintain KPIs set for the dealership and personal performance
- Review Aged Service Receivables Report weekly to maintain KPIs set for the dealership and personal performance
- Making initial contact with the manufacturer to describe warranty concerns
- Working with manufacturers in identifying reoccurring problems directly related to their product
- Preparing all required documentation for manufacturer on warranty claims (i.e., estimate repair hours needed for repair)
- Providing the manufacturer with digital pictures of defect (Service Technicians should take photos)
- Making proper documentation under the appropriate job on the work order, once preauthorization has been obtained
- Authorizing all warranty part orders. Orders must be approved by the manufacturer, and once approval has been obtained, turn slip into the parts department for order
- Ensure accurate billing to all manufacturers
- Collect payment for warranty services completed in a timely manner
- Review Aged Unclaimed Warranty Report weekly to maintain KPIs set for the dealership and personal performance
- Review Aged Warranty Receivables Report weekly to maintain KPIs set for the dealership and personal performance
- Other duties as directed by the Manager
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 year of working experience in a customer service or sales position.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
