Redekop Ferrario Properties (RFP) specializes in developing multi-family properties, market condos, and rental apartments in British Columbia. The company is actively looking to expand into Alberta and the USA.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced finance and accounting professional to join our executive team. The ideal candidate is a motivated team leader, who is both technically competent and interpersonally savvy. We will be taking our time to find the right individual for this important role.

The title for the role could be Director, Head of, or VP Finance and will report to the President and play a leading role in the company's financial strategy and operational execution. Direct reports will be our in-house Controller and our Administrative Assistant. This role will lead the development of our finance, accounting, and administration team and systems to support our growth plans. This role will facilitate the understanding of organizational performance through regular management reports, financial reports, and presentations to both internal and external stakeholders. In conjunction with the executive team, this role will develop and implement strategies for sustainable value creation for our company and our shareholders.

Functional Areas

Financial Planning and Analysis - Develop, implement and report on financial plans, budgets, and forecasts. Analyze the financial performance of the company and identify opportunities for improvement. Create financial models, pro-formas, and perform due diligence on potential investments. Manage risk through the implementation and monitoring of effective internal control systems.

Finance and Administration – Departmental functions include full cycle accounting, payroll and benefits, cash management, budgeting, and closing. System wide integration of reporting processes, internal controls, and risk management across ALL departments. Develop and implement a vision on what the department should look like in terms of structure, service delivery, and how it can meet the needs and expectations of the organization going forward.

Treasury – Develop and execute the companies investment strategy, managing and stewarding surplus to ensure maximum growth and reducing risk of loss. Evaluate the company’s investment strategy annually and report to ownership with status, progress, and recommendations.

IT and Infrastructure – Oversee all data and information management, including the implementation of information systems, document control, ERP (Sage 300 CRE), and related systems. Manage IT service partners to ensure our teams are equipped with the appropriate hardware/software and other assets that helps us execute our company goals.

External Stakeholder Relations – in tandem with the President and CEO, be a reliable and effective representative of RFP and our interests externally. Develop and manage various external stakeholder relationships and engagements including banks, investors, analysts, regulators, trade groups, and all levels of government. Develop investor presentations and reports, appropriately representing opportunities and tracking progress.

Group Structure, Tax, and Reporting – Develop legal structures to meet the needs of the company and our investors. Manage RFP and associated companies corporate tax structure and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Ensure yearend tax planning for corporate and partnership entities is completed on time and presented to the executive team and owners. Ensure compliance with local, regional, and national authorities for various tax and workplace reporting.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. CPA required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management, with a proven track record of success

  • Experience working with investors and raising capital
  • Experience in the real estate industry, particularly in multi-family and mixed-use properties
  • Expertise in mergers and acquisitions, deal structuring is a plus
