Work Hours: 9am – 4pm every business day (including 1-hour break); but may be required to work extra hours to fulfil the job duties.

Ashbard Development INC: (“the Company") is an emerging logistics and trucking company with a vision to be the leading provider of trucking solutions in Canada and the United States of America.
The Company was incorporated in 2020 and commenced operation in August 2021, with an initial focus on Saskatoon in Saskatchewan province. Over the next five years, the company plans to expand its operations into other provinces.
We are looking for an experienced General Manager to provide overall strategic direction for the Company and oversee daily business operations. The General Manager will be responsible for implementing the Company’s business plan, establishing objectives for the company, co-ordinating daily activities, representing the company in negotiations or other official functions, monitoring performance, driving client acquisition and executing client’s mandates. Allocating material and human resources to implement organizational plan.
The General Manager will also be responsible for hiring talents for all required positions and establishing financial and administrative controls in line with the Company’s business requirements
The candidate must have a strong strategic mind, excellent networking abilities and exceptional people skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in guiding business operations and employees in similar organisations, to achieve corporate goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- A Master of Business Administration (MBA) is required.
- A Class 1A trucking licence.
- Professional certification in Accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Administration or relevant fields.
- Minimum of 15 years work experience, with at least the last 10 years of experience in client facing management role and supervising multi-disciplinary teams of staff including drivers safety maintenance, with a span of control of at least 10 people.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Visio, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word.
- The successful candidate must have proven experience in preparing, implementing, and managing an overall budget with diverse functional components.
- Experience in developing policies and procedures affecting Trucking and logistics.
- The successful candidate must have proven experience in establishing, operating, and significantly growing at least one start-up specialising in Trucking and logistics.
- Excellent written and oral command of the English language.
- Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Able to maintain poise and excel in fast-paced, tight deadline, high pressure situations.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Must be ready to work physically in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Province.
- Must be able and ready to drive across the US border, Canada and Mexico (long haul trucking).
Job Duties:
Establish objectives for the company and formulate or approve policies and programs.
Determine the company’s strategic direction, taking into account the company’s vision, mission, policies and key objectives.
Effectively allocate material, human, and financial resources to implement organizational polices and programs.
Establish financial and administrative controls; formulate and approve promotional campaigns; and approve overall personnel planning.
Co-ordinate the work of regions, divisions or departments and recruit senior managers, and other key employees; delegate the necessary authority to them and ensure an engaged and motivated workforce.
Represent the company in negotiations or other official functions.
Assume responsibility for the design, authorize and organize the establishment of departments and associated senior staff positions.
Take overall responsibility for the company’s cleaning and facility management services, including client acquisition and client service.
Maintain positive and trust-based relations with clients, service providers, bankers and other stakeholders.
Overseeing the company’s operations, financial performance, and employee relations.
Designing and implementing all marketing and business development initiatives.
Overseeing and managing budgets.
Managing administrative tasks related to client service – time reporting, invoicing, ensuring prompt collection of receivables, liaison with bank(s) etc.
Ensuring effective communication of and compliance with company’s policies and statutory obligations.
Building and enhancing the company’s public profile at events, speaking engagements etc.
