Our Solid Waste department is currently looking for self-motivated, hard-working, responsible team players for residential/commercial garbage collection and green waste collection. As many of our full-time staff began work as temporary and auxiliary employees, this is an excellent opportunity to determine if a career in public service is for you.

The District of North Vancouver will facilitate training for successful candidates not currently in possession of a valid Class 3 BC Driver’s Licence with Air Brake Endorsement. To be considered for these positions, applicants must possess an Unrestricted Class 5 Licence and provide a current driving abstract that reflects a safe driving record.

The wage rate for this unionized position is $29.71/hour. When you are performing the truck driver-swamper duties of residential garbage collection you will be paid at a higher rate of $33.41 per hour.

The position requires the successful candidate to be available Monday – Friday for shifts commencing at 7:00am and finishing at 3:30pm.
