INTERIOR COMMUNITY SERVICES Kamloops, BC

1. Family Service Program - Temporary Full-Time (37.5 hrs./wk.) - until September 2023, or upon return of the incumbent.

2. PAID Program - Temporary Part-Time (31.5 hrs./wk.) - until April 2024, or upon return of the incumbent.

  • Diploma or Degree in human/social services and 1 year of recent related experience supporting families. Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Current CPR-C is required
  • Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license, own a reliable vehicle, with Business Use and 5 Million liability insurance and safe driving record (abstract). The difference in cost for obtaining business use insurance will be covered by ICS.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong communication, documentation and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate good time management
  • Strong knowledge and skills of implementing current research-based theories, methods and interventions related to individuals/families dealing with issues of violence, addictions and mental health
  • Ability to assess and identify individual/family strengths, challenges and risks and assist families to determine and achieve goals
  • Strong ability to provide crisis management when required
  • Strong ability to conduct group facilitations
  • Ability to work collaboratively with social workers and community professionals
  • Demonstrated professionalism, ethical decision making and accountability
  • Strong teamwork, collaboration and conflict management skills
  • Must be able to travel to areas identified within our contracts.

OTHER:
Pay starts at $24.48 per hour as per collective agreement. These positions qualifies for employer-paid group benefits (dental, extended health, life, EFAP) after 3 months.



The successful candidate must provide satisfactory supervisory references and criminal record checks (both RCMP and Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Vulnerable Sector check).
