About the Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Technical Support Specialist for a 1 year remote contract. Our client has offices in the USA and Canada. The ideal candidate will have a minimum 2 years experience in a technical support role. They will also have the ability to provide on-call support on a rotating basis during non-working hours. Minimal travel within Canada may also be required.
The Technical Support Representative is responsible for providing hardware configuration, and installation services to clients, troubleshooting issues identified with user systems, and managing help desk activity via inbound phone and email queues and Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) software. The position requires a combination of hardware and software support skills, SQL Server and MSSQL scripting skills, exceptional customer service and communication skills, and initiative.

About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- A two-year technical degree or certification from a trade school or college; or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years technical support experience in handling inbound phone support to end-user/customer
- Minimum of 2 years demonstrated client-server system experience
- Knowledge of MSSQL script writing with regards to stored procedure creation a plus
- Client-Server base networking problem solving experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage activities related to compatibility testing, Quality Assurance and Quality Control
- Knowledge of C++, Visual Basic, WEB development and/or Java a plus
- Familiarity and experience with Salesforce and JIRA are highly desirable
- Familiarity with current version of Android OS is desirable
