Technical Assistant Job at Vineland Research & Innovation Centre
You will provide cross-functional and hands-on support assisting with plant production and consumer insights projects.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Grow and maintain plants based on methodologies and specifications dictated by project leads
- Sample collection of plants and soils in field and greenhouse settings
- Measurements of plants in production experiments
- Maintain organized laboratory space and monitor supplies inventory
- Assist with project design, data formatting and statistical analysis
- Assist with other duties as assigned in the Consumer Insights program, such as sample serving and clean-up.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- Minimum Grade 12 education
- Minimum one (1) year related experience
- Good laboratory skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task efficiently
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills
- Plant production experience in a greenhouse environment
- Experience with data collection in laboratory and field settings
- Safe food handling practices
- Familiarity with sensory and/or consumer science
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
