Director of Operations

Grey Bruce Management Administrative Services (GBMAS), operating under the name Tri-Alliance Shared Services Organization (TASSO), is a newly formed not-for-profit providing management and administrative services to Bruce Peninsula Association for Community Living, Community Living Owen Sound and District and Community Living Walkerton and District. Located throughout Bruce and Grey counties, the TASSO agencies support people with developmental disabilities to live meaningful, active lives within their communities. As an employee of TASSO you will be joining a dedicated and committed team whose mission is to nurture inclusion and promote people’s full participation as valued and contributing citizens. Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Operations oversees the daily operations of three Community Living Agencies supported by TASSO. This position works closely with the CEO and guides the management teams to ensure effective execution of the strategic and operational plans to support both programmatic and organizational needs. The position provides leadership to create streamlined and integrated systems and processes that support impact-driven programs.
Responsibilities:
- Works closely with the CEO and Management Teams to implement and operationalize the strategic plans for each community.
- Provides leadership to the management team and staff, ensuring that departments have the capacity to achieve their goals.
- Supports effective communication within TASSO and each Community Living Agencies and ensures roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and understood.
- Ensures teams have the tools, training, and resources to achieve positive outcomes for people supported.
- Ensures that effective policies and procedures are developed, implemented, and followed with regard to service delivery and operations.
- Works closely with the CEO and Director of Finance to lead the annual budgeting process.
- Supports the monthly, quarterly annual budget review process with Management Teams.
- Leads the Management Team to ensure a healthy and productive work environment where employees work together to achieve individual, departmental and TASSO’s overall goals.
- Ensures technology and information systems and tools support operational and programming needs.
- Oversees and supports the Management Team in planning, developing, and implementing inclusive and impactful programs that respond to community needs.
- Promotes knowledge sharing and supports a learning environment to support continuous improvement of programs.
- Provides oversight and guidance to monitor and evaluate overall program effectiveness and impact.
- Facilitates process for regular reporting to the Board and communities.
- Acts in a leadership capacity in the development of community partnerships with other service providers and other community agencies.
The Successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of 10 years relevant work experience combined with an advanced post-secondary degree in Business Administration; Social Sciences, Operations Management, or related field. Or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Committed to supporting people with intellectual disabilities and their families.
- Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop the performance of others.
- Demonstrated project-operational management experience, including knowledge of human resources, IT/systems, finance, project management.
- A strategic thinker with an ability to focus on the details of implementation.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people.
- Well-developed writing skills including report writing.
- Well-developed computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of/experience in Developmental Services organizations is an asset.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Check.
Work Location: This position will be based out of the Community Living Owen Sound and District Admin Office in Owen Sound, ON, however travel to other TASSO agencies may be required from time to time.
