Talent Acquisition Specialist Job at Canadian Commercial Corporation

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is primarily responsible in sourcing, attracting and retaining great talent for CCC. Recruiting top talent for CCC is integral to our success. This position is responsible for building our talent pipeline, promoting opportunities within the organization and outside the organization and will be required to navigate a complex recruitment setting. The incumbent will promote CCC as an employer of choice and will think innovatively about staffing for the Corporation. In addition to these duties, there will be the general administration required for high-volume recruitment, such as HRIS input, managing job postings and preparing onboarding requirements for the new hires. The incumbent must have strong interpersonal skills, creative solutions and excellent communication skills.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Proactively source talent, identify opportunities to connect with emerging employment markets, and champion CCC and brand to attract highly qualified candidates and fill vacant positions.
- Fill positions in a timely manner, ensure the most rapid responses to the HR team and the Hiring Manager and to the prospective new hires.
- Ensure quality and fit while moving forward recruitment campaigns with urgency.
- Organize recruitment campaign advertisements, with the direction of the Human Resources Director, ensure that job is posted in all areas to maximize suitable applications.
- Review, tag and rate applicants on all positions assigned on a regular and frequent basis. Keep ATS up to date and reviewed daily.
- Share short lists with Hiring Manager and provide briefings on the candidates that are presented.
- Conduct phone screenings and schedule first interviews with suitable applicants.
- Lead and/or participate in both first round and subsequent interviews as needed.
- Correspond and liaise with various recruitment firms and other vendors to increase volume and suitability of applicants to CCC.
- Attend various industry events and career fairs, with the aim to increase the number of applicants.
- Approach suitable candidates through other channels such as LinkedIn, Monster or Indeed. Entice prospective candidates to apply to various roles. (Direct sourcing candidates.)
- Network and sell opportunities with our organization across the greater Ottawa/Gatineau area.
- Prepare interview guides and other resources to enhance the applicant’s experience, and lead to better fit assessments for the organization.
- Create interview tools and provide techniques on how to mitigate our biases, and provide more authentic and positive experiences in the recruitment process.
- Assist in administrative tasks that support recruitment, from refreshing job postings, to creating advertisements, or detailing notes from interviews.
- Assist in post-hiring administration, such as preparation of employment agreement, onboarding packet, new hire documentation.
- Follow up with successful and unsuccessful candidates to manage on-going relationship.
- Recommend and implement creative and innovative ways to attract top talent, and bring suggest suggestions to the HR team.
- Develop creative strategies for sourcing passive talent from underrepresented ethnic and gender demographics.
- Support retention activities related to staffing.
- Other related and miscellaneous administrative tasks in support of the HR function.
- Adheres to the CCC Policy Suite and related procedures and instructions.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education, college diploma, or university undergraduate degree required.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a recruitment role is required.
- Previous experience in a Marketing or Sales role is an asset.
- Must possess strong judgment skills, understand their biases, and operate in a manner that selects the best candidates during the recruitment process.
- Possess a track record of balancing the management of efficient high-volume pipelines, competing priorities, and providing an incredible candidate experience
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, strong ability to engage audience.
- Bilingualism is preferred.
- A high degree of professionalism and confidentiality are required.
- Must hold or be able to obtain a “Enhanced” level security clearance.
