Our Red Chris mine is located on the traditional territory of the Tahltan and we encourage qualified applicants from the local communities to apply. We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George, Smithers, and Calgary, AB.

The successful candidate will guide various tailings studies and projects, managing various stakeholders and a team of contractors, to compile, plan and deliver a robust Tailings and Water plan for Red Chris.

Accountabilities:

  • Guide cross-functional and cross-organisational teams for the successful delivery of studies and projects for processing plant and tailings dam upgrades/modification (dam construction, hydraulically placed sand, thickened tailings, etc);
  • Deliver the studies and projects on time, within budget, and as per technical specification and present & report as required to the project Steering committee;
  • Provide safety leadership to the project with a strong focus on process safety and culture;
  • Deliver effective, ongoing, site-based stakeholder engagement, to facilitate cooperation and alignment through strong relationship management between Red Chris personnel, Project Delivery, Technology, and Technical Services; and
  • Challenge assumptions and foster innovative thinking, to deliver the best outcomes for Newcrest.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline is required.
  • PMI certified Professional Project Manager preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant study/project and/or program management experience
