We are seeking a Supply Chain Material Manager, reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Operations. This role will be primarily responsible for developing and implementing a supply chain for manufacturing, developing strong relationships with vendors, negotiating pricing for long-term cost goals, and setting up a lean material flow inside the plant. plant.

This role is based out of the Hydrogen Optimized office at 1800 17th Street East, Owen Sound, Ontario.

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Set up a robust supply of manufacturing materials
• Identify optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to the consolidation of warehousing and distribution
• Work with suppliers to ensure they are meeting our demands
• Provide forecasts for both short and long-term as needed
• Negotiate price agreements for raw materials and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and shipping companies
• Assess the need for material handling equipment and staffing; make recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials
• Analyze current inventory levels and adjust where needed to maintain supply and cost control
• Manage receiving and shipping team members to meet the production demands of the company objectives
• Maintain any performance metrics required
• Meet with customers as needed

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an appropriate field of study with 5 years of proven experience
• Proven experience in a Supply Chain Material Manager role in an ISO9001 environment
• Ability to prepare concise and informative reports that summarize key findings
• Excellent mathematical capabilities and working knowledge of data analysis
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers
• The desire to work in an innovative, fast-paced, changing environment
• You are flexible and adaptable, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• You are a mature, self-starter who remains calm under pressure
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent leadership skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Teams) environment
• Able to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
• Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills and attention to detail are critical
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• You must be flexible and open to change
• Must be available and willing to participate in any required training
