Student Part-time Position Animal Caretaker Job at Little Acorn Farms
We are a well-established family farm looking to hire additional staff members to meet the needs of our growing business. We are looking for individuals with a positive attitude who are not afraid of hard work. An attention to detail is important when caring for animals.
Day to day duties include but are not limited to:
Feeding and Watering the Animals
Cleaning Animal Housing
Cleaning and Maintaining the Facility
NOTE: This is a fast paced environment in which time standards apply. The work is labour intensive and dirty. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Although having a love for animals is a must, having some work experience within a farm environment would be an asset.
This position is a part-time student position. You must be 16 years of age in either High School, College, or University. The position requires daytime hours on weekends, Saturday and/or Sunday. Unfortunately, no evening shifts are available but depending upon what time you would be able to arrive at the farm, there may be an opportunity for a few weekday shifts as well. The number of hours per week will be flexible to meet the needs of the ideal candidate.
The starting wage will be $16.00 per hour during the 3 month probationary period, and then based upon performance, will increase to $17.00 per hour.
This position is mostly indoors.
