Store Manager (Forest Hill) Job at Summerhill Market
Summerhill Market is a boutique grocery store chain in Toronto that specializes in scratch-made prepared foods and on-trend ingredients. Our stores go above and beyond a typical grocery store by offering an extensive rotating selection of ready to eat gourmet meals, freshly baked goodies, and curated hard to find groceries.
We are searching for a Store Manager, who will be responsible for leading their store team in executing the day-to-day operations, in collaboration with the Assistant Store Manager and Department Managers.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate inspiring leadership, focusing on the development of people and culture to drive results.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily retail store operations (day-to-day, merchandising, recruiting, and training, scheduling, inventory management), in collaboration with the Assistant Store Manager and Department Managers
- Coach, mentor, and motivate the store team to attain goals and to provide an exceptional customer experience
- Support marketing initiatives such as campaigns, signage, and communications, etc. to help drive in-store sales
- Review labour reports to ensure that labour and payroll costs remain within budget
- Submit payroll information, assist department leads and cash lead in setting weekly schedule
- Develop and maintain customer relations, leading by example, with strong customer service skills
- Work with department managers to ensure availability of merchandise and services by approving contracts and maintaining inventories
- Assist with merchandising, exploring in-store opportunities and strategies
- Secure merchandise by implementing in-house security measures
- Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment
- Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal and health and safety requirements
- Maintain operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
Skillset Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience in grocery or retail management
- 3+ years' experience leading a team
- Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
