At SMS Equipment, our Shop Clerk is part of our hard-working Reman team. In this role, the incumbent will provide purchasing and administrative support services as they relate to the service functions within the branch. Responsibilities will be carried out within a well-established and clearly defined policies and procedures. We are looking for a candidate who is detailed in their work and will bring their accuracy and positivity to the team!

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Purchasing Responsibilities. Handle purchase requests for shop consumables. Work with purchasing to place orders as required. Follow up on placed orders and investigate missing orders. Outsource items as required by Foremen.
• Service Responsibilities. Create Work Order Requests on behalf of the shop for submission to administration. Compile timecards, scan and send to Timecard Entry personnel. Assist with folder management between the shop, reliability, and administration. Assist with onboarding requirements of new personnel. Monitoring and booking of shop training requirements. Maintenance and upkeep of shop employee competency records.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma. An Office Administration Certificate and/or 2 years of administrative experience in clerical, and record keeping duties would be an asset; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Additional qualifications include:

• Good computer skills (i.e., word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and internal department electronic systems) to access and update electronic records
• Good/ excellent verbal communication skills when verifying and/ or exchanging information with internal resources
• Excellent skills in time management, work prioritization, and attention to detail
• Maintaining confidentiality is key attribute
• Knowledge of eXtend ERP System and WIP Tracker is a definite asset
• Knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems is a definite asset
