ECS Cares is seeking an experienced driver to add to our team. We provide a competitive wage, some overtime and most importantly a great working environment. ECS is a family run business. We deliver supplies to various healthcare locations and collect their medical waste throughout Ontario. The immediate position(s) is out our Barrie office and will function as a hybrid position between the warehouse and route driver.

A typical day is expected to begin at 6:30am with a few hours of warehouse work (receiving or helping others), followed by local service calls and finishing with additional warehouse work at 3:30pm. Service calls will take the priority. This position will also cover for other route drivers should they be absent from work and this will require longer days and a larger driving radius (overtime is possible). The general shift will be towards a Route Driver position and not a Warehouse position.

Typical service calls are courier based while some calls require heavier lifting and the occasional use of power tools. The truck provided is generally a G license 18' Isuzu or a 26' International with airbrakes. All vehicles are purchased new and well maintained. This weekday job consists of varying hours when the entire day is a Route Driver and more uniformed when balanced with the warehouse. A full time Route Driver usually works between 6 - 6 depending on routes with an average week between 40-50 hours. Overnights range from 0-5 hotels per month with possible single night trips or multi-night trips. Advance notice of long days and overnights is provided.

All potential candidates must have the following credentials:

• 3-year minimum commercial driving experience
• Log book and circle check experience
• Clean CVOR abstract
• Clean criminal record
• G license, however a DZ or AZ is preferred to share runs with the airbrake truck
• Attention to detail
• Heavy lifting required - some items may be as heavy as 26kg
• Ability to use power tools will be an asset
• Be a team player
• Be presentable, well mannered and respectful
• Customer service skills, to be friendly and interact with customers on a daily basis
• You must be fluent in English, both written and verbal
• Paid Overtime with meal/hotel expenses covered on overnight trips.
• PPE required to be used and provided (safety boot replacement after probation period)
