Senior Developers must have significant experience in frontend website development and use their expertise and knowledge of the industry practices to perform various development tasks. The responsibilities of a Senior Web Developer include refining website specifications, coding, analyzing data,, contributing to the design of websites, web development and resolving technical issues.

Job Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities

• Identify user and system requirements for new websites and applications
• Prioritize website development projects
• Create wireframes to decide on layout
• Write or review code for various applications
• Liaise with designers to decide on UI/UX elements (like graphics and navigation buttons)
• Ensure necessary documentation is up-to-date
• Perform coding assignments
• Creating and implementing design and code architecture plans
• Analyzing and review code segments regularly
• Design client-side and server-side architecture
• Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade web projects
• Create security and data protection settings
• Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and technology developments
• Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
• Document and share solutions by creating and maintaining well-structured documentation
• Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
• Assist with improving operations by conducting systems analysis
• Protects operations and clients by keeping information confidential

• Project quality control while maintaining a feasible budget

Qualifications

• Min of 5 years of proven client-facing experience as a Senior WordPress Developer or similar role
• Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or relevant field
• Previous freelance or remote work experience.
• Headless WordPress experience
• Experience implementing RESTful services
• Experience writing high-quality unit tests
• Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) in WordPress
• Expert WordPress experience, as a developer that truly understands WP under the hood (custom plugins, themes, etc.)
• Advanced proficiency with PHP and MySQL, including modern PHP practices (OOP, autoloading, namespacing, traits, interfaces, etc).
• Developing web applications using PHP, .NET, HTML5 & CSS3, Java and JavaScript, JSON, jQuery, Git, AJAX, etc.
• Experience in basic GIT Version Control and being comfortable in managing code base workflows
• Strong familiarity with JavasScript (vanilla JS, jQuery, ES6, etc).
• Ability to use and extend build tools like gulp and webpack
• Familiarity with package managers such as Composer and NPM.
• Experience working with third-party APIs (Eg Stripe, Mailchimp, etc).
• Competent with version control through git and Bitbucket
• The ability to iterate and ship ideas quickly
• Managing SSL, DNS and other server-level configuration setups
• Knowledge of multiple back-end languages such as PHP, Node JS, Command-Line, etc.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MongoDB and MySQL databases and LAMP web servers
• Developing in a local Node JS environment with task runners and other automation tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must work well in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines & budgets
• Familiarity with data analysis and reporting
• Must be willing to provide customer care for active projects assigned
