Senior Software Engineer
Job Location: Depends on the experiences
Geophysical research and development company is seeking a full-time senior software engineer with a minimum of 5 years experience with on Linux and embedded Linux at the application and driver level. This Senior Software Engineer will be involved in the design and manufacture of instrumentation for subsurface exploration and characterization.
Required Skills/Duties
- Programming languages: C, C++
- Linux and embedded Linux O/S experience
- user-interface development on Linux and embedded Linux platforms for interaction with embedded data acquisition systems
- User mode driver integration
- Kernel mode driver integration
- maintenance of existing data acquisition software to assure compatibility with operating system revisions and instrument hardware modifications
- development and coding of utility software for data conversion, processing, statistical analysis and graphical display.
- participation in field testing and evaluation of new and revised instrument systems.
Qualified candidates will be proficient in C and C++ development and have some familiarity with embedded data acquisition systems. Familiarity with the applications of digital signal processors, FPGAs, knowledge of general electronics and knowledge in the field of geophysical science is a plus. Good interpersonal and communications skills are essential.
This position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, physical science or engineering, and demonstrated relevant experience.
