HN Homes is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Administrator professional to join our team!

Responsibilities

  • Verifying, coding, and processing high volume of invoices
  • Processes vendor payments to meet payment terms and conditions.
  • Prepares bank deposits and subsequent cash receipt entries.
  • Create and maintain our vendor database
  • Tracking and updating WSIB and liability insurance for contractors and suppliers
  • Monthly reconciliation and payment of company credit cards.
  • Coordinate payment of various City of Ottawa services (building permits, utilities, and property taxes)
  • Address and respond to contractors and suppliers to resolve any issues or inquiries
  • Ensure department goals for timeliness and accuracy are met
  • Maintain an effective records management system to support the above services and responsibilities
  • Other related accounting activities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience working for a Residential Construction company
  • Proficient Microsoft Office software knowledge and skills
  • Experience using Newstar Enterprise Software would be considered an asset
  • An aptitude for learning new programs
  • Above average ability to plan and prioritize the workload with minimal supervision
  • Strong ability to track and follow up with contractors and suppliers to ensure information is accurate and issues are resolved.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in accounting or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar role
  • Excellent computer skills in word processing, database management and electronic communication software
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills (English mandatory, French would be an asset)
  • Excellent ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
