Senior Accountant
Department: Corporate Brokerage Accounting Department
Reporting to: Controller
Collaborates with: Members of the Finance, Accounts Payables, Client Success and Branch Operations and Leadership Team
Role Overview: As a key member of the Royal LePage Corporate Brokerages finance and accounting team, the Senior Accountant will provide financial, operational and business development support to the finance and accounting department and brokerage leadership team.
Accountabilities
- Assist with the execution of full cycle (monthly; quarterly; annually) accounting processes including account reconciliations and analysis and other supporting schedules
- Preparing and analyzing of month end and year end general ledger entries including day to day bookkeeping (invoice processing, journal entries, payment processing)
- Perform monthly Corporate Credit Card Reconciliation
- Assist in month end and year end closing
- Assist in the preparation and completion of bank account reconciliations
- Responsible for preparation of annual T4A, T5 statements
- Responsible for preparation and/or review of regulatory filings (HST, GST) as requested
- Compile information for internal and external audits as required
- Assist in annual budgeting process
- Supporting department leadership team with ad-hoc financial and operations analysis as needed
- Assist with analyzing and implementing process improvements for the brokerage
- Participate in special projects as they arise
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- In-depth Knowledge of accounting and accounting standards
- Self-motivated and proactive, effectively prioritizing deliverables, proven workload management skills, ability to manage multiple priorities throughout the day and able to meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast paced environment. Recognizes when support is required and plans ahead.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to determine the best course of action to proactively investigate and creatively resolve challenges. Proven ability to critically self-review deliverables and ensure completeness & accuracy.
- Effective written & oral communicator, proven ability to tailor communication to stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance and recognized professional accounting designation
- 4-5 years of previous experience in finance and accounting • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word;
- Previous accounting experience in a Real Estate Brokerage including knowledge of real estate regulations and requirements such as FINTRAC, REBBA 2002, RECO
- Previous experience with Brokerwolf, Great Plains and Sage would be an asset

- Full time position, Toronto
