As a Residence Support Aide, you will be responsible for providing non-care related support to residents while ensuring a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors and other staff members. as an employee of Chartwell, you can enjoy growing your career and be a part of a dedicated team that positively impacts the lives of the residents.


What You Will Do:

  • Assist the care team in providing non-care related activities such as portering or ambulation assistance, set up of resident personal care items, assisting residents with telephone/virtual communication with loved ones and other non-care nursing duties as assigned

  • Make residents’ beds, changing linens, tidy closets and drawers as requested.

  • Provide aide to residents during mealtime, while participating in activities and act as a spotter for residents requiring a 2 person lift or transfer.

  • Provide one-on-one or small group visiting programs.

  • Attend in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops as directed.

  • Identify and document building/equipment breakdowns in the maintenance log.

  • Participate in Infection Prevent and Control practices including, but not limited to: cleaning and disinfection of equipment, resident hand hygiene assistance, and surveillance screening

What You Will Need:

  • Secondary school diploma

  • Previous work experience with geriatric population is preferred

  • Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors

  • Ability to work identified shifts and rotating weekends
