We have an immediate opening for a Research Technician. This position is available in Calgary, AB.

How we plan on keeping you busy:

· Actively contributing to project execution including assay development, validation, data analysis and reporting

· Assist our scientists in testing hypotheses and pursuing valuable new research in cell-based screening

· Clean and set up laboratory equipment, monitor inventory and supplies, and ensure overall laboratory cleanliness

· Record detailed observations and notes pertaining to sample collection and/or any ongoing studies

· Preparing draft statistical reports and summaries from data collected

· Routine handling of mammalian cell cultures including stable cell line maintenance, transient transfections, freezing and thawing cells

· Maintaining cell stocks and freezer inventories

· Supporting and collaborating with members from various teams to meet project deliverables and timelines

· Growing your technical skill set and engaging in professional development

What will help you get here:

· Biology diploma or equivalent

· Preferred- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in life sciences

· Preferred- Prior hands-on experience working in a lab environment

· Experience with bioassays, mammalian cell culture techniques, other molecular and cellular biology techniques

· Laboratory technician certification or unencumbered licensure

· Excellent manual dexterity required

· Strong analytical, organizational, and record-keeping skills

· Solid team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)

· Excellent documentation and organizational skills

· (Optional, but desired) Experience in flow cytometry, microscopy and/or in vitro assays
