Minimum Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree in a health-related discipline (as suitable combination of education and experience related to the position may be considered)
- Eligible to practice and maintain membership/licensure with The Canadian Health Information Management Association
- Must have a valid Manitoba Class V driver’s license and willingness to travel the region year round
- Two (2) year’s supervisory/management experience
- Minimum two (2) years’ comprehensive experience related to the position
- Must have working knowledge of qualitative and quantitative analysis of health records, transcription, coding and abstraction of records and statistical reporting
- Must be proficient and knowledgeable in health information technologies, systems, and trends
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of privacy legislation including The Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and other related health care legislation
- Thorough knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
About the Job: The Regional Manager, Health Information Services is responsible for Health Information Services (HIS) in the acute care and community programs throughout the region including the management, integrity, protection and security of health information, while also providing direction for best practice and the development of standards. Ensures that health information practices are appropriately integrated in all regional or provincial clinical systems. Functions in a manner consistent with, and supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Northern Regional Health Authority. Manages resources to maximize their use as a member of the Senior Management Team in the NHR.

Salary: $88,000.00-$103,000.00 per year
