Role description

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. This position starts at 2 pm, is a 8-10 hour shift from Monday-Friday. You will conduct quality assurance inspections, maintain the company’s BRC program and identify areas to improve quality and food safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily operational inspection
  • Carry out GMP and other training for the production team
  • Perform Environmental Swabbing and verify ATP testing/Allergen testing
  • Perform internal calibration of equipment - Scales, Thermometers, etc. and handle external calibrations
  • Manage the site’s Pest Control Program
  • Control the HOLD and RELEASE Procedures
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality and food safety program
  • Conducts Risk Assessment of food safety/food quality-related incidents
  • Documentation verification and filing
  • Perform plant inspections and lead internal audits
  • Perform annual validations – CCP validation, Cleaning & Sanitation validation, etc.
  • Perform Mock Recalls and Trend Analysis
  • Ensure all documentation, calibrations, and verification tasks are up to date
  • Update SOP/Program and manage implementation at the plant level
  • Actively participate in all meetings – Quality, HACCP, KPIs, etc.
  • Ensure quality assurance standards and good manufacturing practices are being followed throughout the plant.
  • Assist QA Manager in all audits and perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A College/University Diploma in Food Science is preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality role, in the food industry.
  • Outstanding knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and BRC standard
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional team members
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Salary: $52,000.00-$58,000.00 per year
