Job Summary
The Program Supervisor is accountable for the daily operations of the SureStay Emergency Response Cente and ensures that operational and quality standards are always maintained. Works to ensure a safe, well maintained, and healthy environment. This position also works with community partners and other organizations within the Tri-Cities and is accountable for community support and engagement, as well as statistics collection.

Organizational Status*
The Phoenix Society is a multi-service agency located in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia dedicated to providing accessible services and opportunities to people who face barriers related to addiction, mental health, housing, education, criminal justice involvement and/or employment.
Work Performed
*
Risk Management*
- Ensures the health and safety of all residents.
- Takes lead role in incident management and reporting.
- Acts as an OHS member.
Staff Supervision
- Provides supervision, direction, coaching and assistance to staff in the completion of daily operating tasks and routines.
- Supervises medication administration and is accountable for ensuring accuracy and completeness of administration and documentation for the medication program.
- Orients, trains, supervises, and evaluates new employees, volunteers and practicum students on shift responsibilities and routines and reports to supervisory position.
- Motivates staff team to maintain and exceed agency work standards. This position does not involve hiring, firing, or disciplining employees.
- Ensures that all documentation for shift tasks, responsibilities and routines are completed.
- Performs other tasks and duties as required.
Client Support
- Role Modeling-Acts as a positive role model for clients. Teaches clients effective social and interpersonal skills through tasks of appropriate daily living and social activities.
- Environmental Support - Contributes to maintaining a therapeutic environment following therapeutic community principles which encourage awareness of inter-dependence of community members, and the value of responsible concern for self and others.
- Monitors - residents' behavior and activities and reports to program director, if necessary.

- Position requires a 2-year post-secondary diploma. Preference given to those with a degree in a relevant discipline such as social services community services, etc., or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience working with marginalized populations, substance use services, mental health, corrections, etc., or equivalent
- Experience in a non-profit setting is an asset
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening is required
- Satisfactory completion of Tuberculosis Screening form is required
- Satisfactory completion of Employee Immunization Record form is required
- First aid certification with CPR is required
- Valid driver’s license is required

- Knowledge of and ability to operate standard office equipment, including: telephone system, fax machine, photocopier, printer, and computerized building security monitoring system

Vaccination Requirement
Effective October 26 2021, all new hires at the Phoenix Society require full COVID 19 vaccinations (have a series of a World Health Organization-approved vaccine against infection by SARS-COV-2, or a combination of approved WHO vaccines). Individual medical exemptions must be approved by the Provincial Health Officer.
