Production Supervisor
Job Overview:
As a Production Supervisor you will be directly responsible for overseeing employees, and processes on the production floor. You will oversee scheduling and routine production activities as well as acting as first-line troubleshooting should challenges arise. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the performance, training, and development of all production employees. This role is responsible for establishing daily٫ weekly and monthly objectives and communicating them to employees. The Production Supervisor manages the workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules. They guide and coach employees٫ monitoring their productivity and overseeing the safe use of equipment and the schedule of regular maintenance.

What You’ll Do:
- Pre-check or lock up Pacific premises.
- Schedule and prioritize daily workflow (on-going) in consultation with the Operations Manager, Shipping, Maintenance, and other shift supervisor.
- Provide end of shift production information to the next shift Production Supervisor.
- Monitor, inspect, and ensure safety and policy standards are met.
- Identify and implement ways to improve plant productivity and quality.
- Ensure quality of incoming and outgoing product as required.
- Resolve production challenges in the yard related to stacking and loading product.
- Manage and allocate materials within the plant and requisition product to support the production schedule.
- Perform inventory counts monthly and as needed.
- Manage attendance reports, vacation requests, and other employee performance records and information requests.
- Establish vacation schedules for your staff to allow for uninterrupted workflow.
- Encourage and be open to ideas from staff and peers, ensure that daily effective huddles toolbox talks occur.
- Hire, train, develop, direct, promote and discipline all staff reports.
- Maintain a positive relationship with all staff using good communication skills.
- Instill strong customer service policies with staff.
- Resolve employee complaints and concerns in a timely fashion and escalate to Operations Manager where appropriate.
- Ensure staff use time management skills.
- Perform written probationary and annual performance evaluations as well as ongoing verbal evaluations throughout the year.
- Ensure a work environment that is inclusive and diverse and is free from discrimination, harassment, and bullying.
What You Bring:
- A Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license.
- Carpentry or Construction trade qualification would be considered an asset.
- Confident and professional mannerism, leading by example.
- Continually looking for ways to improve your department and yourself personally.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Presents a professional company image (attire & PPE).
- Works hard to ensure a safe, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
- Manufacturing technology, especially related to wood, truss and building manufacturing.
- Operation of computers (re saws and tables).
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Operation of minor maintenance and repairs of all Plant machinery and equipment.
- Verbal and written language proficiency (English).
