Madinatul Uloom Academy is a private faith-based school operating in the heart of Scarborough, Ontario since 1996. We are seeking to hire a Primary School Teacher for grades:

• Kindergarten to grade 4.
• Kindergarten to grade 2.

Job Responsibilities

• Create daily lesson plans that are engaging, educational and exciting for the students, encouraging them to want to attend school.
• Deliver lesson plans in a way that catches the attention of the students and keeps them occupied and excited about learning.
• Develop, issue, and grade educational content including homework, tests, and assignments.
• Supervise classes to ensure all students are learning in a safe and productive environment.
• Deliver personalized instruction to each student by encouraging interactive learning.
• Prepare and distribute periodic progress reports and semester report cards.
• Attend parent-teacher meetings.
• Evaluate and document students’ progress.
• Reach school and course-wide performance goals for every student in the class.
• Watch closely for students who are struggling with emotional problems, learning disabilities or situations at home, and help them find the resources they need.
• Grade papers and homework regularly to keep students updated on how they are doing and head any problems off before they become a habit.
• Increase educational knowledge and stay up to date on new methods by joining professional organizations, attending continuing education courses and attending regular training sessions for teachers.
• Incorporate goals, competencies and objectives into lesson plans in ways that directly apply to the student’s life.
• Offer praise and encouragement to students when they do well and when they are struggling, and teach them that they have the power to do well in school no matter what.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Skills & Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a teacher is preferred.
• Well-organized with excellent leadership abilities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.
