Plant Controller- Hamilton

Purpose:

Reporting to the Director, Operations Finance, the scope of this position involves assisting with all accounting responsibilities associated with providing the standard costing, month-end closing and financial reporting for the Hamilton manufacturing plant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain Standard Costs for manufactured products
• Support Operations with ERP production recording as needed
• Analyze variances to standard costs
• Report milk and ingredient usage to DFO monthly
• Reconcile inter-plant bulk transfers and balancing adjustments monthly
• Process journal entries and inventory adjustments for month-end closing
• Prepare monthly finance and management reports
• Prepare cost estimates for new products
• Assist with cost benefit analyses for CapEx projects, monitorspend
• Calculate actual savings from Cost savings initiatives
• Audit Accounts Payable Invoices after departmental authorization
• Prepare and present annual plant budget
• Travel: 5-10% within Ontario
• Other duties and projects assigned

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education and holds a CPA designation
• Minimum of 5 years accounting experience within a food processing or manufacturing environment
• Strong cost accounting background
• Experience with ERP systems, Microsoft Dynamics an asset
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal
